Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members:

Welcome to the home of the Donner Dolphins! We are so excited to have you as a member of our learning community and look forward to having an amazing year where each and every student is provided the support they need to become lifelong learners in a positive, welcoming learning environment.

Elitha Donner takes pride in being a Responsive Classroom school. Responsive Classroom is a student-centered, social and emotional learning approach to teaching and discipline. It is comprised of evidence-based practices that promote safe, joyful, and engaging classroom and school communities.

Elitha Donner has been recognized for reaching the Platinum Level of implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and in 2020, we were also recognized as a PBIS Community Cares school by the California PBIS Coalition. This recognition reflects our school’s success in creating a positive and rigorous learning environment amidst a global pandemic. PBIS is a systems approach for establishing the social culture and behavioral supports needed to provide all students equal opportunities to learn in a culturally responsive, physically and emotionally safe environment. STOP, WALK, TALK is our school-wide bullying prevention program, which is taught and reinforced.

Our Student-Parent-Guardian Handbook provides families with important information pertaining to our school and district policies and procedures. Please carefully read and review the contents with your child and complete the Acknowledgment Form that was sent home on the first day of school. You can also find an electronic copy of the Acknowledgement Form on our website. Please return the form by Friday, July 28th for B,C, and D tracks.

We believe parent and family partnership is a critical component in your child's education, and we strongly encourage your involvement. Your participation is needed and highly valued. Ongoing communication is a vital component to the success of all of our students. Important information can be found here on our website, on our Facebook page, and on our marquees located on the corner of the school campus. School-wide communication folders go home every Monday, so please make sure to review the contents of the folder at the start of each week. Also, on Mondays, Morning Announcements for the week will be emailed home. Our teachers and staff also communicate regularly through Talking Points (texts) and emails. Messages can be left with our school office at (916) 683-3073.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of our students and their families, and I know that TOGETHER, we are going to make the 2023-2024 school year OUTSTANDING!

Sincerely,
Cindy Doyle - Principal
