Mouse Practice

Mouse Practice Lesson
Students can practice multiple mouse skills, including scrolling, using drop down menus, radio buttons, and accessing links, using the Mousercise exercises, and if necessary visit the Mousing Aroundtutorial CCSS ELA (W.5.6)
Using Highlighting Text students will wear headphones, listen to the directions and practice highlighting text.
Students will visit Grade 5 Proofreading Makes Perfect to practice correcting grammar, spelling usage, and punctuation. Students will need to practice highlighting text, and placing cursor in specific locations in the text.  CCSS ELA (L5.2)
Students will practice their speed and accuracy of using the mouse by playing various math games found in FunBrain: MathArcade. Students should identify their grade level prior to playing game. (Math)


Keyboarding Lesson
Students will use KeyboardInvasion to practice typing skills, choose your level. CCSS ELA (W.5.6)
Students will use Sky Chase to practice typing skills. CCSS ELA (W.5.6)
Using Number Pad Practice students will focus on using the number key pad and will practice using the number pad for speed and accuracy. CCSS ELA (W.5.6)
Students will play Math Quiz to improve their multiplication fluency while practicing using the number key pad.   CCSS ELA (W.5.6)


Navigation Lesson
Using Tagxedo, students will practice interpreting how to navigate an activity by creating content-specific word clouds. CCSS ELA (W.3.6) (RL. 5.2,5.4)
Using Make Beliefs Comix, students will practice typing into fields by creating original comics using a variety of editing and selection tools. CCSS ELA (W.5.3) (W.5.4)
In Study Jams, students can watch videos and play supplemental games on a variety of topics tied to CCSS Math standards. Play a video, use navigation tools, and learn!  CCSS Math (W.3.1) (W.4.1)
Using Making an Animation students will use a variety of navigation skills including copying, selection tools. CCSS ELA (W.5.6)

Using Thinking Blocks, students will model and solve word problems while practicing their navigation and drag and drop skills. CCSS Math (5.OA.)
